THUNDER VALLEY OFF ROAD CROSS 2020

The Four-Wheel Drive Club of Sri Lanka and the Two Wheels Motor Racing Club joined forces to host a thrilling event at the newly-opened Thunder Valley race venue in Kaluaggala, Hanwella. Taking place over the leap year weekend of February 29th and March 1st, 2020, the event drew competitors from across the region to test their skills and endurance on a variety of terrain.

Thunder Valley, named for the thunderous roar of engines that echoed through its hills and valleys, featured a range of ground conditions that presented a formidable challenge for both motorcycles and 4×4 vehicles. The two-wheeled participants navigated a demanding MX track designed by track owner Haren Yatawaka, while the four-wheeled competitors braved a rugged and unforgiving course that took them through mud, slippery slopes, deep ruts, gullies, rivers, and creeks.

As competitors battled against the elements and the clock, the spectators were treated to a captivating display of skill and determination. Despite the physical demands of the course, the athletes persevered and gave it their all, pushing themselves to the limit in pursuit of victory.

In the end, Thunder Valley lived up to its reputation as a venue that provided a thunderous and unforgettable racing experience. The organizers, the Four-Wheel Drive Club of Sri Lanka and the Two Wheels Motor Racing Club, deserve credit for their tireless efforts in creating such a memorable event.
